Bert’s January Dividend Stock Watch List

With the first month of 2017 coming to a close, I thought it would be a good idea to put a dividend stock watch list together to focus in on a few companies that have caught my eye recently.  What’s crazy is that each day brings an exciting new day to the market and it seems like we have snapped out of our two month streak of constant appreciation and are finally starting to see some great companies trading at a discount.  After my last purchase and Lanny’s recent portfolio review, I am as motivated as every to keep pushing capital into the marketplace and increase my passive income as much as possible.  Now lets take a look at my January Dividend Stock Watch List!

Take Risks – Nothing About Your Finances is Permanent

“Nothing is permanent about our behavior patterns except our belief that they are so” – Moshe Feldenkrais

I was a little shocked, but I was able to find a quote that aligns perfectly with the message of this article.  This morning, I felt motivated to write this article because it finally hit me.  If you are unhappy with the status quo of your financial situation or are on the fence about trying a new personal finance strategy, why not take risks and go for gold?

Lanny’s 2016 Portfolio Review

I  keep a copy in PDF of my portfolio every quarter, and have a deeper dive at 12/31, but this also provides a blog’d example of where I stand, so I can always refer back on the site the historical position of my portfolio.  As we have done in the prior year, this post will be a review and re-cap overall of my portfolio, the contributions, dividend going forward, dividend received, what I can analyze from the current position, etc..  It’s always fun to see what the year compiled into one snapshot of all of the hard work that goes into it.  I am excited to see where it stands and what can be done going into this new year!  Let’s dive on in.  Continue reading

Lanny’s Recent Stock Purchase – Citizens & Northern (CZNC)

Just when I thought I was coming down with a great system, I realized that I still needed to make contributions into my IRA account for the 2016 year.  I still actually am quite a bit away from maxing out the year, but with this purchase, I definitely reached closer to the goal.  I love banking and truly am passionate about the moves being made in the industry.  I know Bert knows all about this company, and I’m sure the community is starting to also learn a little bit more, hopefully!  A few days ago I was able to make a stock purchase back into a community bank stock that I own!

Bert’s Recent Buy – Procter & Gamble (PG)

It didn’t take too much arm twisting by Lanny to convince me to add to my stake in Procter & Gamble (PG) this week, especially after he took the first step, backed up his talk, and purchased 10.1 additional shares of the company earlier in the month.  I have no shame in admitting that I followed his lead and purchased shares in the company because let’s be honest, it is a great company!  Time to summarize my purchase of PG this week.
