Three quarters down, one to go.  2017 is rapidly coming to a close.  October is one of my favorite months.  My wife and I love the fall weather, playoff baseball is back, and some of my favorite holidays are right around the corner.  If you recall, at the end of December I set five goals for myself.  I knew some of the were stretch goals, but it has been a blast aiming for them anyway.  Each quarter Lanny and I review our goals to check our status and see what possible changes may need to be made.   Let’s jump in an perform my Q3 goals review.

Dividend Stock Analysis – Newell Brands, Inc. (NWL)

There is nothing like having a discussion about stocks and having one that the two of us hang up our phone, fire up our laptops, and begin intensely researching.   Today, we both discussed a consumer staple stock with a brand portfolio that is matched by few.  In our quest for finding undervalued dividend growth stocks, we wanted to take a deeper look at Newell Brands, Inc. Lanny’s Recent Stock Purchase – Hormel Foods Corp. (HRL)

The consumers staple industry is always highly sought after by dividend investors.  They typically are companies that have been around for many, many years that date back even before our time.  As dividend investors, we love companies that make products that are widely consumed by majority of the populations, at least in developed countries, but also those that have plans to expand to those countries not as developed.  Growing up, I loved pepperoni, chili and other types of food.  A brand sticks out to me that serves both up, as well as is expanding into the food conscience society we live in now and that major player is Hormel Foods Corp. (HRL).  On October 19th, I purchased shares into this perfectly tasteful pepperoni making company!

Dividend Investment Portfolio Crosses the $300,000 Mark

Three years and three or so months ago, my portfolio crossed the first six digit mark in it’s existence.  Back in June of 2014, the dividend investment portfolio crossed $100,000 in market value.  Now I never posted about the portfolio crossing $200,000, but something about $300,000 had a nice ring to it.  It took me over 5 years to get to $100,000 and only 3.25 short years to triple that amount.  I hope we all can take a pause to think about that for a second, as my article will be focused on HOW I was able to garner a $300,000 portfolio and how YOU can too.  Check out how I was able to cross and crush through the $300,000 dividend stock portfolio mark!

Bert’s October Dividend Stock Watch List

I’m sitting at my dining room table with a freshly brewed cup of coffee and the fall breeze blowing in.  What a beautiful fall day here in Northeast Ohio.   With a lot of the expenses associated with moving in and updating our house in the rear-view mirror, I’m finally starting to flip on the investing switch again and aggressively look for great opportunities to add to or establish new positions.  I’m inspired by Lanny’s recent dividend income month where he covered over 100% of his monthly housing expenses with his dividend income.   If I want F.I.R.E, I need to go get it.  So today, I sat down and found four dividend stocks that I would like to watch over the next month.  Let’s take a look at my October dividend stock watch list.
