September Dividend Income from YOU the Bloggers

September is over and a lot of us haven taken the first few weeks of October to look back and reflect on the crazy month of September.  The turbulent market presented many great buying opportunities, as evidenced by what felt like a daily purchase article on our website, and benefits such as DRIPing at a lower price.  Preparing a dividend income summary article that includes the results of a few others in the community (I wish we could include all) has been a pleasure over the last few months. It allows us to share our successes together and push each other to knock out our goals so we can all escape this insane rat race.   We all have the same end game after all!  Let’s dive into the September edition of our monthly community dividend income summary.

Seagate Technologies (STX) Stock Analysis

Now seems to be a pretty good time to perform a stock analysis as we approach the middle of the month!  We have had ups and downs within the Market and it really can’t decide which way it truly wants to go.  With interest rates remaining on hold (thanks Fed… – was really hoping for a bigger discount, kidding!), the market has been a tick upwards over the last 1-2 weeks.  I wanted to hop into a sector and stock that has been beaten down this year with what is perceived to be sound dividend metrics.   How about the technology sector? Seagate Technologies (STX) – you are up!seagate

Bert’s September Dividend Income Summary

September was a crazy month and it flew by.  It felt like every day Lanny and I were either receiving a dividend, purchasing a stock, or watching for a dividend increase announcement.  There was just a ton going on.  September was also huge for me since I was able to knock out my first 2015 goal:  Investing $15,000 in “New Capital” in 2015.  With the recent downturn, I have felt as compelled as ever to maintain a low cash balance to purchase some great discounted dividend growth stocks.   Now that the month is over, I can finally breathe and take a step back to assess my monthly dividend income and compare the total to prior periods.  Let’s see the results for September.

Lanny’s Recent Purchase – EMR (x3)

Well – I am sure you can read from the subject line – I was back at it again with a wonderful dividend aristocrat stock.  It’s hard to keep staying away from this stock when the market wants to keep throwing the discounts and sales in your face!  I was fortunate to have capital and make a stock purchase limit order yesterday on October 1st, 2015.  I purchased Emerson Electric (EMR) for the third time in the last 2 months!  Let’s find out why:
