September is over and a lot of us haven taken the first few weeks of October to look back and reflect on the crazy month of September. The turbulent market presented many great buying opportunities, as evidenced by what felt like a daily purchase article on our website, and benefits such as DRIPing at a lower price. Preparing a dividend income summary article that includes the results of a few others in the community (I wish we could include all) has been a pleasure over the last few months. It allows us to share our successes together and push each other to knock out our goals so we can all escape this insane rat race. We all have the same end game after all! Let’s dive into the September edition of our monthly community dividend income summary.
September is a great month. Summer turns to fall, football returns, baseball teams battle for their chance to continue playing baseball in October, and most importantly, most companies pay a dividend! Let’s review my portfolio and dividend income received during September.
How crazy is it to think that we are already 5 months in to 2014? We are nearly approaching the halfway mark and I still feel like I was just watching the ball drop. Anyways, as May closes it is time to review my month and to see assess my progress towards my 2014 portfolio goals. The month started out slow for me, but then things took an interesting turn as I made two purchases at the end of the month. With these purchases and some appreciation, I now see my portfolio sitting north of $37,750 with a yield of 4.03%. I am inching closer and closer to $40,000!
