Bert’s December Dividend Income Summary

I’ve been getting excite to write this post ever since I published my November 2016 dividend income summary.  Why?  Because December is the BEST DIVIDEND INCOME MONTH OF THE YEAR!  Not only do we receive dividends from the majority of companies in our portfolio, but we also receive distributions from our mutual funds.  More often than not, the capital gains distributions cause you to fall out of your seat as the number never seems to disappoint, especially when you have been contributing to your 401k throughout the year.   Now that it is officially 2017, time for me to perform my final dividend income summary of 2016!  Let’s see my December dividend income figures!

Rollercoaster Post-Election

Are you holding on as tight as I am seeing the fluctuation in the stock market?  The rollercoaster has been hot and heavy since Tuesday and slightly reminds me of a few instances we had last year.  I am never one to predict where the market is going nor what I think is the best stock right now, therefore, this article will service one primary purpose.  That is – to hold on to the handle bars on the rollercoaster ride and understand why you are sitting in the seat, is what matters the most.  Continue reading

Bert’s October Stock Watch List

My last two articles have been reviewing my past performance, checking in on my goals through the end of September and reviewing my September dividend income.  Both of the articles were showing that my portfolio and dividend income are trending in the right direction.  With three months to spare, I’m looking to keep that momentum going.   So I took some time tonight to prepare my October stock watch list and see if I can pinpoint a few stocks to keep a close eye on over the next several weeks.

Lanny’s September Dividend Income Summary

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  Ah, the quarter-end dividend income summary post.  This is my favorite time of the year, as most companies traditionally pay on a calendar quarter end, which for the U.S. dividend investors, this typically means a bigger month of collecting dividends than usual.  Will that be the case for me?  Did I set some milestones here?  I have established now a minimum bar, as well as leaped to new heights for my September dividend income!

Bert’s 3rd Quarter Goals Review

We are rounding third and heading home here.  Considering the Cleveland Indians clinched the AL Central Division title this week, I figured a baseball reference to start the article off was pretty appropriate.  Let’s see if they can capture some of the same postseason magic the Cavs had during their run in May/June.   At the end of each quarter, Lanny and I review our annual goals to monitor our progress towards hitting these marks.  If we are on pace…great.  If we are off track, well there is still time to make some adjustments despite the fact there are only three months remaining.  Time to dig and perform my third quarter goals review.

Lanny’s Recent Purchase – Target (TGT) and T. Rowe Price (TROW)

You have to love Mr. Market when the trend turns lower.  You have to be prepared, the artillery ready and the decisiveness to your actions.  I am so lucky that I was ready last week, especially on Monday the 12th, when the market plunged downward and I had been prepared to make a purchase or two.  Those two purchases happened to be Target (TGT) and T. Rowe Price (TROW).

Lanny’s September Stock Watch List

Fun time of the month!  I have spent my Sunday morning researching and finding stocks that I like, and heck – some may be the exact same from last month’s article.  What matters is that these are attractive, great dividend yielders, easy businesses to understand and are staple names to all!  I was very excited the market has took a turn over the last 30 days and have started to open up more value for us dividend investors.  Let’s see who is on my stock watch list!
