The results were very impressive and the community has shown no signs of slowing down. Lanny’s 2017 Portfolio Review
I keep a copy in PDF of my portfolio every quarter, and have a deeper dive at 12/31, but this also provides a blog’d example of where I stand, so I can always refer back on the site the historical position of my portfolio. As we have done in the prior years, this post will be an overall recap of my portfolio, the contributions, dividends going forward, dividends received, what I can analyze from the current position, etc.. It’s always fun to see what the year compiled into one snapshot of all of the hard work that goes into the dividend engine. Bert’s December Dividend Income Summary
December is THE BEST month to be a dividend growth investor. Not only is it the third month of the quarter the most popular month to pay a dividend, but December is also the month where mutual fund companies pay their capital gains distributions! Whoo. Lanny and I were refreshing Vanguard’s website hourly (okay, probably less frequent than that) since we were eagerly awaiting the results. For Lanny, the results WERE INSANE as he crossed $2,000 in dividend income for the first time ever. Lanny congratulations my man. Just incredible! While my portfolio is far behind his (one day I’ll catch you Lanny!), my December’s have historically been strong. If I ever had a chance to record a record level of dividend income and beat him this month, it would be in December. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone had a blast finishing off the year and are ready to set 2018 on fire! What better way to ensure to light this year up, than a record-setting month of Dividend Income? That is my case and point. I am beyond thrilled and excited to see the figures everyone is putting up, showcasing the blood, sweat & tears everyone has endured to this point.

After a strong end to 2017 it is time to usher in a new calendar year and a new set of goals. Whether you are racing to update our investment portfolios one final time in 2017 or too busy smiling as you update your dividend income summary for the amazing December dividend and capital gains distribution you received from your mutual fund holdings, there are a lot of great things to be excited about. One topic that always brings joy to the two of us…dividend increases. So each month, we try to summarize the companies that are expected to increase their dividend in the coming month. We are tracking this statistic like hawks, so we thought we would share our research with all of you.
