Last weekend, Lanny and I put together a watch list and man was I determined to purchase one of the two stocks I was watching. I know I couldn’t have gone wrong picking either of the stocks; however, I only had enough capital to purchase one. Which stock was it? Let’s take a look and find out.

Dividend Diplomats August Watch List
It’s already mid-August and us Diplomats haven’t came out with our watch list yet. The market has been a rollercoaster ride, to which I hope everyone this summer has had some sort of an amusement happen, gone to a theme park, taken a day or so off to take it all in. Well, we were back to the lab and doing research on finding what stocks we are looking at. Enough with it – lets see what is on our August watch list!
Bert’s July Dividend Income Summary
Man, talk about tough acts to follow. Lanny had one heck month hauling in a crazy $740 in dividend income during this “off” month. Congrats on the great month Lanny! With figures like that, I am setting myself up for yet another defeat in July, which makes perfect sense considering his portfolio is nearly triple the size of mine. However, I have one glimmer of hope this month that can catapult me to fictitious victory over Lanny. What is it? I own more shares of Kraft than Lanny. The question is, will this one-time special dividend be enough to push my dividend income for the month over $740. Let’s find out!
Weekend Reading – Sunday Night Edition
Happy Sunday everyone. The weather has been beautiful here in Cleveland and August could not have started off any better. It has been a great weekend in the dividend investing community as well and we have spent some time reading a lot of great articles this weekend. It is an infrequent occurrence here on our website, but we wanted to take some time and put together a brief list of some of the articles we thought were great reads. Let’s take a look at our Weekend Reading list, the Sunday Night edition!
Recent Buy – IBM
As it turns out I was not able to sit on the sidelines too long after my purchase of Emerson Electric last week. On Friday I was paid, which means I had $400 readily available to invest since I have a portion of my paycheck automatically deposited into the checking account linked to Sharebuilder. I have been watching a lot of stocks over the last month or so as a result of the Greece turmoil and the general pullback in the market that recently occurred, which has caused a lot of great dividend growth stocks to become discounted. I purchased one of the stocks on these watch lists, the question is…which stock was it?
Dividend Diplomats July Watch List
The month of July has been a very unusually favorable month – especially if you have capital! We have seen the market go up and down, similar to last month, except this week, recently, the market has been on a bigger slide, opening up, of course, great dividend stock buying opportunities. Given the new opportunities unfolding in front of our eyes, it of course leaves us to really pin point down to which stocks are we really looking to purchase into. Lets see what is on our July watch list!
Mr. Market taking a Turn
Good old Mr. Market. It has been an interesting last week plus, given the overall market condition lately. Greece did not make their debt payment and it felt like the whole stock world shook from the news, as well as other macro events. Thought I do enjoy seeing what is happening from this level, I enjoy it even more when my favorite dividend stocks become discounted throughout the process, yes, yes, even European and Oil companies included. With that said there have been more stocks that have Continue reading
