Bert’s Recent Buy – Norwood Financial Group – NWFL

In his last purchase article, Lanny alluded to the fact that I may have purchased the same stock as his.  Well, Lanny was right and great minds think alike.  We have been talking about this purchase for several weeks and we finally just decided to buy it!  While my rationale may have been slightly different than Lanny’s, here is why I added to my stake in Norwood Financial (NWFL).

Notable Dividend Increases during November

It has been some wild ride this month – no doubt.  Companies have begun/continued to release their ever so exciting dividend increases and I’m here smiling to receive them, that’s for sure.  Some have increased them at a not so high level, some right on where you’d expect and others have had surprisingly nice dividend increases.  I’m sadly going to be very conceited and focus on the dividend stocks in my portfolio that have made announcements mid-way through November.  I primarily will be focused on the companies, years they have increased, the impact to the portfolio and essentially, bringing it all together to show why we are dividend investors.  Okay, enough of this Italian typing away, let’s get to the article.

Lanny’s Recent Purchase – HCP

November is underway folks!  The market has had a blood bath out there and it was time for me to re-up in a position that I already had a stake in.  Let’s just say – it was about time to pump my retirement accounts back up, since I haven’t contributed to that bad boy in months.  Let’s see what purchase transaction I had!

Recent Buy (KMI) & Crossing an Investing Milestone

It turns out that Lanny was not the only one with an itch to buy.   I have been watching the market closely over the last few weeks calculating an entry point for one of the stocks on my watch list, WalMart, when another great dividend stock appeared out of nowhere.  Just like Lanny, I couldn’t resist purchasing one of the darlings of the dividend growth investing community.   This week, I also invested in Kinder Morgan (KMI).

Lanny’s October Watch List

It’s been a while since I’ve come out with a post.  Just for the readers – I’m a public accounting firm in a top 10 firm that audits SEC registrants and the last week I’ve been in the middle of our own regulators inspection process on the audit work that we perform – therefore, my days have been approximately 12-15 hours long, depending on the day, been a whirlwind, but thank God for Bert, the other Diplomat for continuing to write away.  Thank you Bert.  I’ll also do a spin off with him and write about my October Watch List.  Let’s see what stocks are high on my list and which one’s I would actually consider to invest into.  “There’s only one October!”

Bert’s September Dividend Income Summary

September was a crazy month and it flew by.  It felt like every day Lanny and I were either receiving a dividend, purchasing a stock, or watching for a dividend increase announcement.  There was just a ton going on.  September was also huge for me since I was able to knock out my first 2015 goal:  Investing $15,000 in “New Capital” in 2015.  With the recent downturn, I have felt as compelled as ever to maintain a low cash balance to purchase some great discounted dividend growth stocks.   Now that the month is over, I can finally breathe and take a step back to assess my monthly dividend income and compare the total to prior periods.  Let’s see the results for September.

Dividend Diplomats September Watch List

It’s about that time of the month everyone!  The stock market has been wild and rampant, with dips, swings up, going upside down, normal side right, well you get the picture.  The Dividend Diplomats have strung together a few companies we are analyzing during this month of September to see what we can create or add to within our portfolio.  Essentially volatility can be great, if it means the companies are fundamentally strong but that overreaction to external and macro events are causing the push down in prices across the board – thus opening up opportunities for us dividend investors.  Come and see what is on our dividend stock watch list!
