Bert’s Recent Buy – Target (TGT)

I just couldn’t sit on the sideline any longer.  For those of you that have followed our blog over the last month, you would have realized that there was one stock I have been fixated on…Target (TGT).  It was the number 1 stock on my June watch list for a reason.  Over the month, I was patiently waited for the right moment to strike.  When I went to buy, the stock price increased.  When I wasn’t able t access the internet to actually purchase the stock, the price fell.   Finally, the stars aligned as the markets had two terrible days after the Brexit situation.   Time to check out why and most importantly, how much TGT stock I purchased this week!

Lanny’s February Stock Watch List

Needless to say, the stock market has been a “mean green” this past week and man, the buying opportunities are drying up and fast!  It feels like it was just yesterday that we were battling low oil prices and other commodity fluctuations, that was ultimately causing the entire market to head south for the winter.  Then, the curveball of the green machine of the stock market kept roaring this week and was breaking some ground – even with some of the major macro economic factors still in play.  I can’t make much of it, but I do have a watch list of stocks that I have my eyes on.  Come check them out!

Recent Buy – Citizens & Northern (CZNC)

Well…well…well….it looks like January ended the same way it started for me….with buying a stock!  At the beginning of the month I was able to add to my stake in ADM, a darling of the dividend investors community of late due to drop in stock price over the last few months.  And after the boom that occurred at the end of the month, I was happy I purchased shares in ADM when I did.   After my ADM purchase, there was a little bit of a lull period when I sat on the sidelines as the madness unfolded.  Until the end of the month, when I accidentally stumbled on a great opportunity.  You guessed it, I purchased some additional shares of one of my Roth holdings Citizens and Northern Corporation (CZNC).  See why I purchased more shares in this community bank. CZNC

My Greece Strategy

There have been a lot of major news stories over the last week covering topics ranging from social to financial issues.  It seems like every day there was some new development that had major implication, which is a great fit for our 24 hour news cycles.   The one story that has a substantial impact on us dividend growth investors is the continuing saga in Greece.  Once again, we find ourselves staring a default, departure from the European Union, etc., in the face and worst of all at any second a decision could be made that could send shock waves through the financial markets.  It finally hit me, I didn’t have a plan to capitalize on a potential downturn in the market.  But that all changes now.
