The Diplomats were back and at it again! Loving the end of February, the turmoil and the continuous short-term declines in the market that unlocks opportunity in just a blink of an eye. We were on the hot seat this week, and boy did we take some advantage of market fluctuations. Wednesday was a well placed trade on a wonderful asset management company – T. Rowe Price (TROW). Let’s see how, when and what led the purchase by both of us!

Bert’s February Watch List
I’m getting an itch to invest. Even after purchasing Pfizer a few weeks ago I still have some capital that I am trying to deploy. This is eerily starting to remind me of when Lanny ran into the same problem (at the same time as a matter of fact!) of having capital to deploy but no where to put it. Despite the fact that the market wasn’t cooperating this week, I have my eyes on a few stocks that are getting very close to my “buy” zone. If the prices fall next week, I may not be able to resist buying. Time to check out my February Watch List!

Recent Buy – Citizens & Northern (CZNC)
Well…well…well….it looks like January ended the same way it started for me….with buying a stock! At the beginning of the month I was able to add to my stake in ADM, a darling of the dividend investors community of late due to drop in stock price over the last few months. And after the boom that occurred at the end of the month, I was happy I purchased shares in ADM when I did. After my ADM purchase, there was a little bit of a lull period when I sat on the sidelines as the madness unfolded. Until the end of the month, when I accidentally stumbled on a great opportunity. You guessed it, I purchased some additional shares of one of my Roth holdings Citizens and Northern Corporation (CZNC). See why I purchased more shares in this community bank.
Lanny’s 2016 Goals
I love this time of the year. Time to sit down in a quiet space with no distractions going on and reflect on the year a bit and then prepare for the successes and even failures of 2016/the next year. 2015 has been an amazing year, big ups and big downs throughout this time period – but that’s how we learn, that’s what makes us stronger and it’s on the pursuit of being happy. Cannot wait for what the upcoming year has in store and obviously will try to make due on my goals that I am establishing for the upcoming 12 months. My 2016 goals are as follows:
Bert’s December Watch List
First of all, I want to take the time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Today is such a great day as you get to sit down with family, share stories, exchange gifts, and spend some time catching up with each other. Hopefully everyone is having a relaxing, special, day off. I know Lanny and I are. A few days ago, I published my 2016 goals article and I have been inspired over the last few days to find some great dividend growth stocks to add to my portfolio. After all is said in done, there have been two stocks recently that I keep coming back to and wanting to add to my position/initiate a position in my portfolio. Here is my December Watch List everyone!

The Reminder of being a Dividend Growth Investor from KMI’s News
SMACK! The thunderous market was turmoiling, lower and lower. Kinder Morgan (KMI) was taking a beating. They just announced news about additional investments, further deteriorating the credit quality by the rating indexes. From trading at $42.81 to begin the year and then plummeting downward to a spiral collapse at $16.42 on the close of 12/7, is truly amazing, a 62% decline from one of the Nation’s biggest/largest oil pipeline companies. Management kept enamoring a dividend focused strategy, to set increases at a % growth rate each year, and then committing by showing/increasing the dividend throughout the year. Interesting how the year really can unfold… Continue reading
Bert’s Recent Buy – Norwood Financial Group – NWFL
In his last purchase article, Lanny alluded to the fact that I may have purchased the same stock as his. Well, Lanny was right and great minds think alike. We have been talking about this purchase for several weeks and we finally just decided to buy it! While my rationale may have been slightly different than Lanny’s, here is why I added to my stake in Norwood Financial (NWFL).
