Essentially volatility can be great, if it means the companies are fundamentally strong but that overreaction to external and macro events are causing the push down in prices across the board – thus opening up opportunities for us dividend investors. Bert’s Recent Buy – 3M Company (MMM)
Well everyone, Lanny wasn’t the only one on this website to take advantage of the market downturn as he purchased JNJ earlier in the week. After finishing my recent obsession of building up my stake in IBM a few weeks ago, I began hoarding cash with a new target in mind. I have been monitoring this company on and off over the last year or so and the recent downturn in the market presented too good of an opportunity for me to continue sitting on the sideline. Let’s see which stock I purchased this week!
Dividend Diplomats August Watch List
It’s already mid-August and us Diplomats haven’t came out with our watch list yet. The market has been a rollercoaster ride, to which I hope everyone this summer has had some sort of an amusement happen, gone to a theme park, taken a day or so off to take it all in. Well, we were back to the lab and doing research on finding what stocks we are looking at. Enough with it – lets see what is on our August watch list!
Lanny’s Recent Purchase – DOW
The market hit a nice turn again for the worse, after a earnings have started to be released for companies. I saw the red, the deep red and I had to put in a nice little limit order on a stock, where it was already down over 6% from a price I recently looked at it… I didn’t really thing it would get lower… lower it did. Now let’s take a look at the purchase.

The month of July has been a very unusually favorable month – especially if you have capital! We have seen the market go up and down, similar to last month, except this week, recently, the market has been on a bigger slide, opening up, of course, great dividend stock buying opportunities.
