We all knew I couldn’t wait too much longer to make a purchase.  The stock market has continued it’s wild trajectory, but I was able to strike a big name company when they were starting to climb back up.  Yes, I was able to shoot my bow and arrow at the “Red Bullseye” in one of everyone’s favorite US retailers in Target corporation (TGT).  Very excited and let’s find out why I bought it, the price points and the metrics!

Lanny’s March Dividend Income Summary

Quarter 1 of 2016 is officially in the books, which means a quarter end month of dividend income has occurred!  The reason why I specifically mention the quarter-end, as this is typically a larger than normal month for dividend income, as there are substantially more payers in the U.S. that pay on those specific months as opposed to others.  This also marks my fifth busy season as an auditor being completed and I can wake up on Saturday not feeling like I need to be working for the firm, feels nice.  This is also one of the exciting time periods where we will read on individuals breaking their record for dividend income for the month!  All great news here.  Without any more introduction, let’s take a look at what Dividend Income was received for March 2016!

Should I Sell my First Energy (FE) Stock?

Oddly, this isn’t the first time this thought has popped in to my mind.  Last year I wrote a piece title “3 Reasons I Would Sell a Stock.”  The listing was created to help me identify holdings that have fallen out of favor in my portfolio or have not performed.  After elaborating on the 3 reasons I would sell, I reviewed my portfolio for any stocks that met the criteria.  Any takers on guessing which one of the stocks that was discussed in the article?  First Energy!  Shocker, right?  After one heck of a run by the stock that has brought me close to break even, I now find myself asking the question again.  Is it finally time to sell my stake in First Energy?

Bert’s February Watch List

I’m getting an itch to invest.  Even after purchasing Pfizer a few weeks ago I still have some capital that I am trying to deploy.  This is eerily starting to remind me of when Lanny ran into the same problem (at the same time as a matter of fact!) of having capital to deploy but  no where to put it.    Despite the fact that the market wasn’t cooperating this week, I have my eyes on a few stocks that are getting very close to my “buy” zone.   If the prices fall next week, I may not be able to resist buying.  Time to check out my February Watch List!
