Bert’s Quarterly Goals Review – Q2 2015

My goodness, we are halfway through 2015 and man has it been a fun ride.  The second quarter was a lot of fun and I felt like the market presented some great opportunities for dividend investors to take advantage of, whether the market had a general pullback from fundamentals or due to the most-recent saga in the everlasting Greek saga.   With all the purchases we had, I moved that much closer to accomplishing my goals in 2015 and I closed the gap on some of my largest, most difficult goals.   Now that the quarter is over, I wanted to take some time to review my progress and see where I stand and if any adjustments need to be made before it is too late.

Bert’s June Dividend Income Summary

June is coming to a close and you know what that means….we are officially halfway through 2015!  That’s right, our year is nearly 50% completed.  Are you kidding me??  It seems like just yesterday that I was writing my 2015 goals article and trying to scheme about how I am going to knock these goals off.   This month is one of my favorite dividend months as most of my portfolio pays out in third month of the quarter, so this is always one of my favorite articles to write!  Let’s see how I performed in June and if I was able to knock of Lanny, who had one heck of a month as well racking up nearly $850 in dividend income!

Crossing $55,000 in Market Value & $2,000 in Dividend Income

As we mentioned in our blog’s one year anniversary post a few days ago, my portfolio has crossed a couple of major milestones recently and I am very excited to finally share them with the community.  Over the couple of months, I have crossed both $55,000 in Market Value and $2,000 in Projected Dividend Income.  I still can’t believe it, as it seems like just yesterday I was crossed $40,000 in market value (last June) and $1,750 in projected dividend income (last August).   Two round, iconic numbers in my eyes. It has been a fun journey between milestones, so lets take a look at how I got there.

Lanny’s Recent Purchase – JNJ

Phew… almost thought for a minute or a month there, that I may go a full 30 days without a right on stock purchase.  Well, I guess I couldn’t hold back for 30 days and have made a new stock purchase!  Always having tricks up my sleeve and am able to make a move on Thursday of this last week, which is great, even if it wasn’t a large investment.  However, it was a NEW investment to my portfolio, let’s take a look at who I was able to scoop up!

Bert’s March Dividend Income

The first quarter is officially in the books and we have completed one dividend cycle for the majority of companies.  2015 has started off with a bang for me, recording record dividend growth rates in the first two months (190%  in January and 79% in February), as my portfolio has grown exponentially since the same time last year.   I know that rate is not sustainable and surely will decrease to a lower amount – however, my monthly income will continue to grow nonetheless!  After all, the amount of capital needed to sustain a 190% monthly dividend growth rate would be insane!  But I am not complaining, I am blessed to be in the position I am in and am happy that I have joined this community that pushes each one of us to continue to grow our income, whether that be 1% or 1400%.  It is even easier to push yourself when you have a a friend like Lanny who is killing it in terms of dividend income, as he nearly eclipsed $800 in March.  What better motivation is there than watching the success of one of your best friends?  With that being said, let’s take a look at the dividend income that I received in March!

Lanny’s January Income and Expense Summary

This month I wanted to make sure I had a timely article to reflect the income & expense summary, as December’s wasn’t posted until almost the end of January!  Another month has passed, another month where I ask myself… Did I hit the 60% savings goal with my income and expense tracker?  Did I hit the big mark that I set for myself back in August 2014 when I was discussing why I am aiming to save 60% of my income?  Let’s dive into the income and expense analysis.
