It’s about that time of the month everyone! The stock market has been wild and rampant, with dips, swings up, going upside down, normal side right, well you get the picture. The Dividend Diplomats have strung together a few companies we are analyzing during this month of September to see what we can create or add to within our portfolio. Essentially volatility can be great, if it means the companies are fundamentally strong but that overreaction to external and macro events are causing the push down in prices across the board – thus opening up opportunities for us dividend investors. Lanny’s August Income & Expense Summary
August is officially in the books after a quick review of the income & expense breakdown for the month. It was probably the best overall month that I’ve had in a while, as I was home predominantly again for the period outside of just one week that was 2.50 hours away from home, plus a lot of fun activities happening during this time period. Bert’s August Income and Expense Summary
Last month I ended my three-month hiatus of posting savings rates articles and afterwards, I vowed to publish my monthly summary in a timely fashion. One of my goals for 2015 is to defeat the Dividend Diplomats’ Savings Challenge and save 60% of my monthly income 6 times in 2015. Will I be able to recover from my just miss in July, where I saved 56.9% of my income? Let’s find out!
Lanny’s August Dividend Income
August is already in the midst of wrapping up and I have tallied my dividend income total for the month. Again, not a typically high month for me as a dividend income investor, but everything has been truly phenomenal and I am grateful for any dollar that I receive for efforts that I had placed in the past. That’s what the journey is about, to start seeing the fruit from the seeds being planted, weeks, months and years ago. August, thank you – let’s see what you brought in from the patch.
Bert’s August Dividend Income Summary
Last month Lanny beat me to the punch and unleashed an amazing $740 dividend income month in July. It was a tough act to follow, especially considering that I came close but fell short of beating him. While it is unlikely to happen again, there is one thing I can promise….I will get my article out first this month! That really is not the point here though. We write these articles monthly so we can track our progress and see how far along we have come in such a short period of time. We have been in the dividend investing community for nearly a year and a half now and writing this article each month never gets old.
