July Dividend Income from YOU the bloggers

We first published this article in May and decided to bring it back for another installment this July!  One of the best aspects of the dividend growth community is the sharing of knowledge, ideas, and motivation that assist each and every one of us in our relentless pursuit of financial freedom.  This article will contain a summary of July Dividend Income blog posts throughout the community.   They are in no particular order and if we inadvertently omitted our income summary, please share your results in the comments section and we will do our best to include you going forward.   July was a huge month for the two of us, so let’s see if the dividend investing community shared similar successes!

The Two of Us–  Aided by a special dividend from Kraft, both of us were able to top $700 in dividend income in July.  Lanny received $740 in dividends while Bert received $706 in dividends.  The victory goes to Lanny for this month!

Dividend Hustler$1,804.72 – What a great place to start it off, hustling his way to four figure dividend income in July…are you kidding me.  Great month Hustler .  What’s funny is that I think he received dividends from more companies this month than I own in my entire portfolio (Bert).

DivHut$1,807.34–  Are you kidding me here?  Over $1,800 in dividend income for the month.   Like us, DivHut benefited from the Kraft special dividend.  What is crazy is that his regular dividend was $357, meaning the special dividend was $1,447!  What is even better is that DivHut is also making great progress on regular dividend income as well! Congrats on the amazing month.

Dutch Dividend200 Euros, or ~$219 –  While Dutch Dividend had a great month of dividends, the bigger story for DD’s portfolio was the activity for the month.  DD made some major changes to his portfolio as a result of the Greece situation.  Way to use a major event to take a hard look at your portfolio and TAKE ACTION!

Captain Dividend – $256.50 – A lot of the names on Captain’s list can be found in our portfolio, and that’s what I love to see!  Captain’s July represents a 43% increase form last year in spite of the fact that Walmart paid its dividend in June instead of July.  Talk about some amazing YOY progress.  Keep up the great work!

Dividend Empire$43.49 in empire portfolio and $53.91 in retirement portfolio – nice job!  Dividend Empire is new to the dividend investing game and is killing it.  Every chart in his article shows impressive, exponential growth.  Ken has hit the ground sprinting and will reach financial freedom before he knows it at this pace!

American Dividend Dream – $252.66 – Similar to Captain Dividend above, ADD showed some remarkable year over year dividend growth, nothing an 82% dividend increase compared to last year.  When was the last time your employer gave you a +80% raise??

Tawcan – Special mention here.  Tawcan did not have a dividend income article at the time of writing, but we wanted to take the time to congratulate Tawcan for recently turning one!  It has been a pleasure having you in the dividend investing community and hopefully there will be many other anniversaries to celebrate.

Dividend Gremlin – $78.11 in regular dividends, $559 from Kraft – Gremlin left the Kraft dividend out of his regular income due to the one-time nature of the transaction.  Gremlin realized a 12% increase from July 2014

Roadmap to Retire – 711 CAD, $541 USD –  R2R offers broader passive income update, which consists of website income, dividend income, and any other side hustles.   In total, R2R realized $233 in dividend income.  I love how diversified R2R’s income and it is a goal of ours here one day.  Diversification is huge as we don’t want to be reliant on only one income stream when we reach financial freedom one day.

Div4Son – $127 – D4S had a very busy month, deploying over $8,000 in capital!  I cannot wait to read D4S’s dividend income articles in 2016 because the YOY growth rates are going to be insane.   Congrats on the amazing progress and setting up a very bright future for yourself!

For those of you tallying, in total, the two of us and all the others listed in the article earned over $6,200 in dividend income.  The bottom line here is that WE ARE ALL KILLING IT! We have all made some great progress and strides over the last year and if there is one thing this article shows us, is that we are all making some phenomenal progress towards financial freedom.    Congrats everyone on the great month and keep putting your capital to work so we can retire as soon as possible!

  1. Thanks for the mention! The dividends income from the group is huge! Wow!!!
This is interesting data. It would be interesting to see the totals trending over a period of a year since we use slightly different selection criteria. It’s like a Dividend DIplomats ETF.

    • No problem Div4son! It is definitely an impressive list and a lot of income that was earned for doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! That’s the best part of this whole game. I like the etf idea haha Maybe it is time for Lanny and I to expand our business model!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

    • Absolutely Tawcan. Congrats again on the big one year anniversary. We love following your story and having you as a frequent visitor. I am sorry I missed your article this month, so I will have to make sure to include it in April!

  2. What a great feeling receiving passive income from dividends. This journey is very life changing and enlightening for those that want financial freedom and value their time. What better way to get out of the rat race by getting our money to make more money. Let’s keep it up and build our portfolios to greater heights take care my friends.

    • HUSTLER!

You aren’t kidding, what is better than receiving money after doing nothing. I love what we all do and we are working our tails off to scrape every dollar together so we can enjoy the most out of our lives and quit working for the man. It is time to take over complete control of our life! we are in this together so let’s all keep on pushing so we hit freedom as soon as possible.

      Take care,

    • Adam,

Thank you very much. This post serves as amazing motivation for me and it helps me focus and continue pushing. I can’t wait for the day when my dividend income is at the top of this list and I am making over $6,200 in dividend income on my own each month!

      Have a great week.

  3. Thanks for the mention! It amazes me how much everyone made in July. Congrats everyone! Only 5 of my 35 companies paid me last month and it looks to be even worse in August. Just make sure to do a similar post in September :).

    Take care,

    • Empire,

No problem! You aren’t kidding, the July numbers were impressive all around. What shocked me is that less than half of the list owned Kraft, meaning that the majority of the people received their income from regular dividend paying stocks and not from a special dividend. I love it when core dividend income is strong and continues to increase. I am so excited to put this article together in September for the reason you stated. I wonder what the income will be when we compile the results for the highest dividend paying month of the quarter.

Keep up the amazing progress. Cheers!

    • R2R,

No problem! This month had some serious progress and I was pumped to read about everyone’s progress. We are all making great strides in our pursuit of financial freedom, so let’s keep the chase going and keep pushing ourselves so we get there as soon as possible.

      Take care!

  4. Thank you for mentioning DivHut. Always great to see how we are collectively doing on a month to month basis. Still not sure why the DGI way isn’t even more popular. These results don’t lie.

    • DivHut,

You’re welcome! No kidding, DGI definitely has a cult, underground following. It is probably because it isn’t flashy or sexy like day trading, option trading, or other means to get rich quickly. Who wants to read daily about buy and hold investors who are investing in long term companies that grow their dividend? Of course, that is a rhetorical question! I’ll take this under the radar approach to investing any day of the week and twice on Sunday’s!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

    • No problem Captain! Don’t worry, one day we will blow past them and we will be the ones laughing haha just kidding just kidding. I love reading about their numbers because it pushes me to reach that same level. As you said, one day we will be there!

  5. So true, we are all killing it and thanks so much for calling this out! I feel so privileged to be among a group of like minded bloggers. Thanks for this post and keep up the fantastic work guys

    • This community is awesome and I am so happy that we became active members last year. We have all made such great progress and the best part is the we are just at the beginning of our journey. Each year the dividend snowball gets larger and larger as the power of compounding really starts to kick in. That’s what it is all about!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

  6. It is great to see so many different bloggers having such strong months. My last couple of months have been weaker ones but I am happy to say still pulling in over equivalent to $100. Pretty happy with that!

I look forward to following everyone’s progress though this. Thanks a lot!

    • DD,

No problem! This was a great month for many in the community. Heck, triple digit dividend income is nothing to sneeze at and without the Kraft dividend, I barely would have eclipsed the $100 mark. That’s a great month in my opinion! Keep up the great work and keep on pushing yourself.

      Take care,

    • DD,

you’re welcome. I can’t wait to see how this list looks in one year, let alone ten! Now that will be a fun article to put together. Holy cow, I can only imagine the value of some of the dividend income streams by that point!
