We are done with one-quarter in 2015 folks. As Lanny mentioned, time flies by! These last three months have been a whirlwind for me, personally, professionally, and investing wise. Between helping plan a wedding, working a busy season, making some stock purchases and other big decisions (you guys will know soon enough!), the first three months were a giant blur. But these are all great events and I have set myself up to have a very memorable 9 months of 2015! This year I told myself that I was going to pay closer attention to my goals to make sure that I am on target to meet the goals and that way, if I need to, I can make any necessary adjustments. Well, here we go, let’s dive into my quarterly goal review!

Bert’s Recent Purchases – PM and CVX
Lanny isn’t the only one to purchase stock recently, as I re-upped a stake in one position and initiated a new position in another. Both transactions have occurred over the last couple of weeks and added a nice sum of dividend income to my portfolio. This month has been crazy for me and has been one of my highest frequency trading months since I started investing a few years ago. Let’s see which companies I added!
Expected Dividend Increases in April
One quarter is almost in the books. Lanny and I had quite the active month and added some nice dividend income to our portfolios, as Lanny purchased CAT (twice) and HCP and swapped LO for PM last week while I added four new stocks to my portfolio and re-upped my position in one tobacco stock (I’m not spoiling the surprise completely). As I said, a crazy month for us. While we were active and many companies paid dividends in March, it was a relatively quiet for Dividend Aristocrats as only a few were set to announce increases last month. Will that change in April? Did the companies follow through with their expected dividend increases last month? Let’s find out!
My Cigarette Problem
Okay – I am sure the title fools you, but I thought it may be clever to have one think – what are Bert and Lanny up to now? Are they okay? Yes – we are okay and no – we do not have a physical Cigarette problem. It comes down to the fact that I (Lanny) own both Lorillard (LO) and Phillip Morris (PM). I have had a discussion with Bert on the right plan of attack with holding Lorillard and PM looking at a very low price point/strong valuation. Here is the cigarette problem I am facing.
Expected Dividend Increases in March
We are coming off of a pretty active month in February. I have been tracking Dividend Aristocrats that are expected to announce a dividend increase each month since May 2014, and February set a record as 8 companies were expected to announce an increase. While March won’t pack the same punch with announced increases, it is the most active month in the quarter for receiving dividends! Time to dive into the details, which Aristocrats are expected to announce dividend increases in March?
Dividend Diplomats February Watch List
We are already halfway through February and it has been a very fast month for us. Time is flying by and the market is rapidly evolving as a lot of new data has become available over the last week. It is time to update our February watch list to reflect the changes in the market. Lanny gave our watch list a new look this month, so we are excited to unveil our changes. Let’s see which companies we have our eye on!
Itching for a Buy…Anxiety of a Dividend Growth Investor
It is Valentine’s Day and here I am wondering/thinking – wow, it’s been almost two weeks since I have made a stock purchase. My last purchase was another small investment using a free trade credit into IBM and it was a small – $547.00 investment at that. It hasn’t been a full two weeks, looking back, as the trade happened on February 3rd (I didn’t write about it, it was very minimal to my eyes) but when you are used to making almost weekly purchases, the dividend growth investor anxiety kicks in.
