Bert’s August Dividend Stock Watch List

It has been a few months since I have purchased my last stock and man oh man am I starting to get an itch.   Times have been interesting for me recently. I am arms deep in working through project after project in our new house and have been hoarding my cash lately in the event we stumble on an unexpected “surprise.”  But I am extremely motivated to purchase some stock after seeing my cash balance increase, Lanny make some moves by purchasing Cisco, and reading through so many great dividend income summaries in our monthly dividend income summary from the blogging community.  It is getting harder and harder to resist.  So now, I thought I would put together a watch list to prepare for when the right moment strikes.

Bert’s July Dividend Income Summary

2017 is flying by.  I barely know what hit me for work here in July.  Between travelling for work and gaining possession of our house, I have barely had time to sit down, relax, and focus on things.  But I must say, I couldn’t be happier doing some of the house work and I am finding it fun and therapeutic (especially when I am listening to music while painting).  Before I knew it, July was over and it was time for me to recap my performance and write my July dividend income summary.  Let’s see how I performed during the month.

The Millionaire Next Door: Book Review & 5 Takeaways

Here we are. The first book review EVER posted on this website and I could not think of a better book to begin with.  Finally, after many references on other blogs and suggestions in forums, I decided to read “The Millionaire Next Door” by Thomas Stanley, PHD and Willian Danko, PHD.  It amazes me that it has taken me THIS long to read the book, but I guess it is better late than never, right?  One of my goals in 2017 was to read more books, so this seemed like a great place to start.  Here are some of my thoughts on the book.

Bert’s June Dividend Income Summary

Half of 2017 is in the books.  Man oh man does time fly.  I look forward to the first weekend of every month so that I can summarize my dividend income from the previous month.  Summarizing my June dividend income, aka the third month of the quarter, is always a little more exciting since I get to include the dividends received from mutual funds.  Enough talk, let’s take a look at how I performed in June compared to 2016.

Expected Dividend Increases in July 2017

After taking a month off from the series in June (unintentionally of course)…I’m back!  Each month, I like to summarize which Dividend Aristocrats are expected to increase their dividend in the coming month.  As die-hard dividend growth investors, the two of us take great joy in closely monitoring and tracking the changes in our dividend income and dividend payments of the companies we own and companies that we are watching closely.  Typically, July is a slower month than June, but there are still some great companies that are expected to reward their shareholders.

May Dividend Income from YOU the Bloggers!

You all know the drill by now, right?  Every month, we try as hard as we can to aggregate dividend income summaries from as many of the other bloggers in the dividend growth investor community.  There are so many great, inspiring stories out there that motivate the two of us each and every day.    We do our best to include as many bloggers as we can; however, due to time constraints, we can’t include every blogger every month.  It isn’t anything personal.  Now, it is time to get inspired.  Let’s check out our May dividend income summary from YOU the bloggers!

Fears of Being a First Time Homeowner

My wife and I just purchased a house…it is still settling in.  I can’t believe I am taking the plunge into home ownership.  This is the largest asset we ever purchased, and it most likely will be the largest one for the remainder of our life.  Last week, I tried to give an in depth account of the purchase in an article. Some of our frustrations, how we stumbled on our house, and the bidding/acceptance process.  At the end of the article, I left a cliff hanger about some of the parts of being a first time homeowner that I am still struggling with.
