Here I am again… hurting, almost feels like the knife that went in the first time was starting to come out, only to be pushed, but this time twisted. Another dividend cut, the 2nd one in three little months. Another commodity dependent business – BHP Billiton (BBL) cut their dividend, by an almost “coincidentally” 74% – the approximate figure that KMI also cut theirs by. This didn’t just sting, this burns, but it is a very & true learning experience for me. Read on… Continue reading

T. Rowe Price (TROW) Stock Analysis
Ah.. Mid-February. The markets have been on another Cedar fair’s rollercoaster ride and we’ve been buckled in feeling the stomach drop… while going through winters that are warm with no a sign of snow to the normal brutal Cleveland winter of a “snowmagheddon” for a great way to put it. With the market “swoons” we all sign into our brokerage accounts to see what our balance is, what dividends have been received and what new stocks have popped on our watch list. Then it hit me – what about doing a brokerage service stock analysis? We are due to write one and this one felt… right. To the analysis my friends.
My Top 5 Reasons to Make Larger Stock Investments ($3,000+)
Now, we all know from my 2016 goals post that my plan was to contribute to the stock market a minimum of $24,000, as well as to make 3 large trades that are at minimum $3,000 per order (it can be higher as well!). I have had a few individuals message me, as well as other friends ask me this one question – why? They also have asked/stated – wouldn’t that then eat into your capital and then you would not be able to strike when an opportunity exists/occurs? I wanted to respond and shed more light on why I want to make these more “significant” purchases than my typical $600 to $2,000 purchases of stock I would make last year.
Lanny’s 2015 Portfolio Review
I keep a copy in PDF of my portfolio every quarter, and have a deeper dive at 12/31, but this also provides a blog’d example of where I stand, so I can always refer back on the site the historical position of my portfolio. As we have done in the prior year, this post will be a review and re-cap overall of my portfolio, the contributions, dividend going forward, dividend received, what I can analyze from the current position, etc.. It’s always fun to see what the year compiled into one snapshot of all of the hard work that goes into it. I am excited to see where it stands and what can be done going into this new year! Let’s dive on in. Continue reading
Target (TGT) Stock Analysis
Just in time for Christmas eh? As everyone is performing the mad dash to the stores – we all know who is always there for them… the big red bullseye. For those last minute gift ideas, wrapping paper, clothes and even groceries – Target is there for consumers, and I would have to admit, typically at a higher quality as well. I wanted to perform a stock analysis on the company, as I feel there are a high quality, fundamentally sound entity, where so many of my loved ones and close friends shop there. Time to perform our analysis!
Lanny’s Recent Purchase – ADM
Whoa Whoa! The market has been on the slide, going downwards and man, new opportunities are unleashing! I know everyone has been busy with re-couping over the KMI decision – they will be fine, and with the large moat they have, should survive. It’s been a wild as all hell week and the capital has been unloaded. Let’s check out the purchase.
Lanny’s Recent Purchase – NWFL
So it is time for the Final Push in December to see if we can buy the best opportunity stock to hit our yearly goals we had set in the prior year. The market has been extremely choppy as of late, but it was time for me to make an investment. The investment was into my Roth-IRA account, and you’ll see why within the article. Whom did I make a purchase into? Let’s check this out.
