February has flown by! The 28 days came and left before I knew it. With work hitting its peak, I was scraping to find time to track my portfolio and dividend income. But don’t worry, there is always time to monitor your portfolio and keep a close eye on your progress. With another month behind us, it is time to see take a look at my dividend income summary for the month.

Lanny’s Recent Stock Purchase – CAT and HCP
I’m back at it baby! After almost a one month hiatus from buying a stock outside of my 401k
purchases through my employer, I am back on the saddle and made a few moves. The month of March has opened up great opportunities into the market place and I’m even more excited to purchase more stock in the coming days/weeks. The market from the last 5 business days of 3/2 – 3/6, has dropped almost 2 % overall and has really opened up great dividend stocks at better prices. I took advantage of a few this week, let’s take a look.
Itching for a Buy…Anxiety of a Dividend Growth Investor
It is Valentine’s Day and here I am wondering/thinking – wow, it’s been almost two weeks since I have made a stock purchase. My last purchase was another small investment using a free trade credit into IBM and it was a small – $547.00 investment at that. It hasn’t been a full two weeks, looking back, as the trade happened on February 3rd (I didn’t write about it, it was very minimal to my eyes) but when you are used to making almost weekly purchases, the dividend growth investor anxiety kicks in.
Dividend Diplomats’ January Watch List
We are already halfway through the first month of 2015 and it has been a very active month for us. There have been a few purchases, some we have written about and a few we haven’t, and one big sale. If there is one thing I have learned over the last year, it is that we do not hold cash for a long period of time and we are always looking to make a move. The big question is, which stocks are currently on our radar?
Bert’s Portfolio Review and Assessment
2014 has been a CRAZY year for my portfolio, Lanny’s portfolio, and many other participants in this great community. For many of us, we have pushed ourselves to the limit and infused as much capital as possible into our portfolios to get the dividend growth snowball running. After all, as dividend growth investors, we know the power of dividend reinvesting and all the benefits, so stretching ourselves to invest as much as possible early just makes sense. Before we begin 2015, I wanted to take some time to perform a portfolio review to assess the current state of my portfolio and perform some quick tests to see what tweaks my portfolio may need in 2015 or what areas I should be focusing on with my next round of capital deployment. With that being said, let’s peel back the layers my portfolio and dive in!
Welcome to the Wonderful World of Dividend Investing
“Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn’t … pays it.”
― Albert Einstein
The power of dividend investing is remarkable, as we will get into going forward with this blog. A blog isn’t a blog until you have the first big “Welcome” post. Therefore, with that being said – Welcome to our Dividend Diplomat story. We are two young mid-20’s 30’s, dividend hungry investors who are working to break free from the chains of the 9-5 or in our CPA terms – 7-9 days of working for “the man”. We are using dividend investing to reach Financial Freedom.
Instead, we are putting our hard/slave earned dollars to work by purchasing stock in strong companies. Strong companies that show history of paying dividends and increasing those wonderful chips annually. We are two young gunners that are relentless in our pursuit of undervalued investments. The goal is to build a dividend income stream large enough to sustain our quality of life and pursue the things that we truly enjoy – sounds crazy, right?
See our Dividend Investing Portfolios.
We believe that investing in these companies will build a self-sustaining engine to allow us to maximize our time being spent doing what we love. Each post will take you through our thought process and our journey towards reaching this goal. While dividend investing stocks are the main focus, we will also enlighten you on ways to save money by using Financial Freedom Products. We will teach you the benefits to side hustle and even Investing 101 topics. The question I have is – Are you ready? Are you buckled up?
