Finally… a trigger has been pulled, the market has had a pull back and Bert, the Jewish one, did not also purchase the same stock I did this time around, joking Bert. I had been eager to add to my dividend income producing stocks, and the time for me was right. Since I am an auditor in the financial institutions realm and don’t have too much exposure to banking – that is what step I ended up taking. Let’s take a look at the purchase.

Dividend Diplomats Recent Buy – NSC
The big bad Dividend Diplomats were at it again last week! The train heard the smoke pop in the air, the metal grind was being heard and a stock opportunity came that couldn’t be passed up. As us diplomats due in great fashion, we try to stock while the iron is hot, let alone when a steam engine is chugging through on the tracks. That is exactly what we did. On Wednesday, July 8th, the diplomats pulled the trigger on a great company.

Bert’s June Dividend Income Summary
June is coming to a close and you know what that means….we are officially halfway through 2015! That’s right, our year is nearly 50% completed. Are you kidding me?? It seems like just yesterday that I was writing my 2015 goals article and trying to scheme about how I am going to knock these goals off. This month is one of my favorite dividend months as most of my portfolio pays out in third month of the quarter, so this is always one of my favorite articles to write! Let’s see how I performed in June and if I was able to knock of Lanny, who had one heck of a month as well racking up nearly $850 in dividend income!
Recent Purchase – Consolidated Edison
I recently reloaded my Sharebuilder (now Capital One Investing…I know, it will take some time getting used to) with some extra capital and was ready to make a purchase. We recently built a small watch list that had me focused on buying two stocks I already own. But man, what a difference a week can make and after some time, a new stock entered the picture for me. This is a stock Lanny and I have been watching for a while and are huge fans of the stock. Not only is it a Dividend Aristocrat, but it is one of the five stocks we consider a foundation stock for any dividend portfolio. Unfortunately my title gave the purchase away, so let’s see why I initiated a position in Consolidated Edison this week.
Lanny’s Recent Purchase – HCP
May has been a very fun month, to say the least! I’ve been a more active investor, I feel, and have made a few purchases actually. The market has been interesting lately, finally a little correction (as it so seems) is taking place and amazing bargain stocks are shedding their heads on the horizon, and damn – do I wish I had more cash sitting around! I made a purchase this month, come and check it out.
Lanny’s Recent Purchase – DOW
It’s been a few weeks since my last purchase in April, as I’ve been much more selective with what I’m deploying out there. I have officially received capital on Monday the 18th and was excited to see what the opening day was going to bring me. One stock I had a look out for was increasing around $1 per share and I just wasn’t feeling the additional market value appreciation and thought I’d grab them again at some point soon. However, this company below was also on my list. I set in a price for a limit order and I kid you not – it dipped down to just a cent over it without triggering the purchase! BUT… the end of the day occurred and the stock dipped to the price (actually did hit a penny below it) and my limit order triggered and boom, we now have a new purchase… and it’s a familiar one.
General Mills (GIS) Stock Analysis
Time for a dividend stock analysis over a company we are all well aware of, are one of our dividend aristocrats and is a legacy type stock. We all have seen the commercials, definitely have had a bite of their branded products and is a staple in almost every household. Who else doesn’t want a jolly green giant, multi grain crunching cereal with a little “woo hoo” from a poke in the stomatch? Yes, I am referring to the General Mills (GIS) company who pumps over $19 billion in sales annually (combined domestic and international). Let’s see how good that honey bee tastes!
