2015 Year Goals – Geared up!

Wow — 2014 has come and gone fairly quick.  We have roughly two months left of this roller coast of a year and to me that is reflection but also — looking forward.  Typically between November 1st and end of December I meet with a few friends (you guys know who you are), where we establish life, financial and personal type goals.  Goals such as traveling, improving your quality of life, portfolio of stocks, dividend income and other financial endeavors.  This will be the first time that I will publicly discuss my 2015 year goals and see if I can make those happen with action beginning now, but theoretically – January 1, 2015.  I will break down the 2015 year goals and show you what I can do to gear those up to the finish line by December 31, 2015. 2015 Year Goals  Continue reading

Why Bert’s Aiming to Save 60% of His Income

About two months ago, Lanny wrote about why he aims to save 60% each month.  His article got me thinking about saving a large portion of my income and you know what, if his Italian self can do it – I can too!  See why I am now also aiming to save 60% of my income each month.

Goal Accomplished! Crossing $1,750 Projected Dividend Income

2014 has been a crazy, unreal year for my portfolio.   I have pushed myself to invest more capital than I was comfortable investing for the sake of reaching financial independence that much faster.   When 2014 began, I was projected to earn only $750 in dividend income.  My portfolio only had $17k invested in income producing assets with some major funds just sitting on the sidelines.   When the calendar flipped, I initially set a projected dividend income of $1,500 and surpassed this total early in the year.  I decided to increase this goal $250 and set a new target of $1,750.   I can now proudly say I my projected annual dividend income is $1,752, surpassing my goal.  So how did I do it?

Lanny’s Goals

post

Life would not be worth living if we did not stretch and push ourselves to the upper most limit possible.  In order to do that, however, you need to set Goals.  Now you’ll learn to find out – I’m pretty crazy/intense when it comes to goal setting and always push it to the brink of insanity, as we have described at our goals page.  I know Bert could attest that I not only make myself go the extra mile but I try to make everyone go that extra mile with me – aka Bert – step those goals up!  Joking, he actually did a great job setting/updating his goal of projected 2015 dividend income from $1.5K to $1.75K, awesome.

Here are my goals and how I will get there for the year ending 2014: Continue reading
