Well, well… the iron strikes again on the same pipeline stock. One couldn’t resist the aftermath throughout last week and I had to end the month of October on a strong point. Heck, even Bert purchased additional shares into Kinder Morgan (KMI) at the end of October. Looks like I had to end the month of October with a bang, and with a bang I did.

Lanny’s October Watch List
It’s been a while since I’ve come out with a post. Just for the readers – I’m a public accounting firm in a top 10 firm that audits SEC registrants and the last week I’ve been in the middle of our own regulators inspection process on the audit work that we perform – therefore, my days have been approximately 12-15 hours long, depending on the day, been a whirlwind, but thank God for Bert, the other Diplomat for continuing to write away. Thank you Bert. I’ll also do a spin off with him and write about my October Watch List. Let’s see what stocks are high on my list and which one’s I would actually consider to invest into. “There’s only one October!”

Seagate Technologies (STX) Stock Analysis
Now seems to be a pretty good time to perform a stock analysis as we approach the middle of the month! We have had ups and downs within the Market and it really can’t decide which way it truly wants to go. With interest rates remaining on hold (thanks Fed… – was really hoping for a bigger discount, kidding!), the market has been a tick upwards over the last 1-2 weeks. I wanted to hop into a sector and stock that has been beaten down this year with what is perceived to be sound dividend metrics. How about the technology sector? Seagate Technologies (STX) – you are up!
Lanny’s 3rd Quarter Goals Check Up
Now that 3 full quarter’s are in the book, it’s a great time to see where I stand in comparison to Q2, but also to the 2015 goals I set for myself towards the end of last year. It has been such a unique year thus far, and 9 months have come and gone. Question I have to find out now is – am I hitting my goals? Am I on pace to somehow reach those items I set? Crushing $6,000 in Projected Dividend Income
I am very glad I have set a realistic, attainable goal this year and am churning my way to it. I remember last year, I was sprinting past my 2014 goals early and often, but this year definitely is different. This year is harder, this year is more strategic, this year takes much more effort than usual. My goal by the end of the year is to have a projected $6,750 in forward-looking dividend income, and well – this month has allowed me to reach closer to the goal, but to also cross a milestone along the path. This month events and activities have allowed me to Crush through $6,000 in projected dividend income!

Lanny’s Recent Purchase – NSC
I’m back at it again! The market again, has taken a downturn south and one of my newly created positions from last month went on sale this week/today more specifically. Sometimes… if you have the idle cash it’s best to use that and average down a position that you want to build, buy more income for less and smile as you do it. I was lucky enough to do just that, I made a purchase today to a position I already have. Let’s take a look on who that was.
