Edgewell Personal Care Company (EPC): A Dividend Focused Spin-off Coming

Over the past few days, I stumbled on an interesting stock that I wanted to share with the community.  While I haven’t shared this habit of mine with the dividend investing community in a long time, I have always monitored spin-offs to try to find potential new dividend stocks that are getting ready to (or have recently) hit the market.  This strategy has worked well for me in the past, as I stumbled on the fact that  Kraft was going to be a dividend paying stock and was lucky enough to catch the company prior to their build up (which occurred long before the announced Heinz-Merger).  So why am I bringing this up?  Well, beginning July 1, a dividend focused spin-off is getting ready to hit the open market and man has it caught my attention.  I wanted to take some time to introduce you to the newly formed Edgewell Personal Care Company.

Genuine Parts Company Stock Analysis

Pullbacks in the stock market present some great opportunities in the stock market.  Thanks Captain Obvious.  When I see the whole market stumble substantially for a series of days, I begin looking to purchase stocks that typically trade at a premium that may now become discounted.  To me, that’s how you get the most bang for your buck in this kind of market environment.  While I was very close to following Lanny’s lead and purchasing JNJ, one of my favorite dividend stocks, there is still one stock I wanted to analyze to see if it would be a better fit for my portfolio.  So now, it is time to dive in and perform a stock analysis of Genuine Parts Company.

General Mills (GIS) Stock Analysis

Time for a dividend stock analysis over a company we are all well aware of, are one of our dividend aristocrats and is a legacy type stock.  We all have seen the commercials, definitely have had a bite of their branded products and is  a staple in almost every household.  Who else doesn’t want a jolly green giant, multi grain crunching cereal  with a little “woo hoo” from a poke in the stomatch?  Yes, I am referring to the General Mills (GIS) company who pumps over $19 billion in sales annually (combined domestic and international).   Let’s see how good that honey bee tastes!download

Chugga, Chugga, Chugga… Chugga, Chugga, Chugga – DIVIDENDS!  That’s the sound that the stock up for this week’s analysis is all about.  I’ve been on a hunt for a good dividend paying stock and what better than a stock that is down over 8% this year but has been consistently raising dividends and laying down stronger tracks each year?  What stock am I talking about?  Norfolk Southern Corp. (NSC).  Let’s see the analysis!

Archer-Daniels Midland (ADM) Stock Anaylsis

It has been a while since we performed our last stock analysis, when we reviewed Philip Morris International.  This seemed to be beneficial for us, as Lanny purchased a large amount of shares last week; Recently I have been keeping a close eye over a stock that is down almost 9% YTD and would represent a new industry in my portfolio. While it appears to be undervalued, it is time to perform a detailed stock analysis over Archer-Daniels Midland to see how it stacks up in our dividend stock screener!

Philip Morris (PM) Stock Anaylsis

Looks like I have a little capital from my recent ARCP sale to deploy, so I wanted to take this opportunity to research a potential investment for the excess capital.  For me, it was a no-brainer figuring out which stock I was going to analyze.  Tobacco has a relatively low weight in my portfolio even though the power companies in the industry offer a very attractive yields.  With stock prices falling lately, it seemed like a great time to assess my only tobacco holding, Philip Morris (“PM”), to determine if I should re-up my position.

Canadian Bank Stocks – Three Stock Analyses

The hottest topic as of late, that I’ve seen outside of the oil/gas industry is… Canadian Banking.  I have seen quite a few dividend investors over the last two weeks, continue to purchase shares into the big 6 Canadian Bank companies.  I also own of them, but with all of the downward pressure on the industry in that geographical location, plus all of the activity with buying happening, it has caused me to dive into some research on the fundamentals with 3 of the bank stocks.  Let’s take a look.
