Bert’s Recent Purchase – NSC

Man has it been a busy couple of weeks purchasing stock and I couldn’t think of a better reason to be busy.  Lanny purchased shares of Johnson and Johnson recently, and I am pretty jealous of him.  JNJ is a great company and is a foundation stock that should belong in every dividend investors portfolio at some point.   Nice pickup Lanny!  But I couldn’t let him purchase stock without a response, right?  So I also decided to purchase stock this week, and it is a company that fills a void in my portfolio.  Let’s see which company was added this week!

Lanny’s Recent Purchase – JNJ

Phew… almost thought for a minute or a month there, that I may go a full 30 days without a right on stock purchase.  Well, I guess I couldn’t hold back for 30 days and have made a new stock purchase!  Always having tricks up my sleeve and am able to make a move on Thursday of this last week, which is great, even if it wasn’t a large investment.  However, it was a NEW investment to my portfolio, let’s take a look at who I was able to scoop up!

Recent Purchase – ADM

The last couple of months has been pretty active for me.  Since the beginning of February, I have either initiated a new position or re-upped my position in 6 stocks, with the most recent transaction occurring a few weeks ago when I purchased both CVX and PM.  Well, I had some extra capital laying around and wanted to purchase a stock that has been on my radar for a while now.   If you have followed our website over the last month, you will probably know which stock I purchased, as it has appeared in several articles recently.

Bert’s Recent Purchases – PM and CVX

Lanny isn’t the only one to purchase stock recently, as I re-upped a stake in one position and initiated a new position in another.   Both transactions have occurred over the last couple of weeks and added a nice sum of dividend income to my portfolio.   This month has been crazy for me and has been one of my highest frequency trading months since I started investing a few years ago.  Let’s see which companies I added!

Lanny’s Recent Purchase – Re-Up in CAT

This has been a great month for dividends and dividend investing I feel.  There are quite a few nice stocks going on sale temporarily and if you like the company in a fundamentally sound way and they fit your criteria – then make a decision to investor or not… that is if you have the capital.  The month of March has been the busiest month so far for me in terms of contributions or capital going into my account – that is when you add my purchases, my dividends being reinvested, as well as my automatic 401k contributions.  A stock that I recently purchased earlier this month, in my eyes, went further on sale and I thought – if I liked it then, I like it even more now.  Move out of the way, as I am bulldozing for more Caterpillar (CAT)!

Decision Made… Philip Morris > Lorillard

After the long thought debate and analysis on whether I should maintain my Lorillard (LO) holding or sell and rejuvenate my position into Philip Morris (PM), my decision was made.  You can remember last week, my LO stock was close to hitting the ceiling potential and the valuation on the stock just wasn’t showing that it was an appropriate valuation anymore, as well as my brief research into Reynolds American.  I wanted to know my money was going to transition into an undervalued stock, and that it was under my control to make that decision/action happen… And it was.  Continue reading

Lanny’s Recent Stock Purchase – CAT and HCP

I’m back at it baby!  After almost a one month hiatus from buying a stock outside of my 401k purchases through my employer, I am back on the saddle and made a few moves.  The month of March has opened up great opportunities into the market place and I’m even more excited to purchase more stock in the coming days/weeks.  The market from the last 5 business days of 3/2 – 3/6, has dropped almost 2 % overall and has really opened up great dividend stocks at better prices.  I took advantage of a few this week, let’s take a look.
