Latest Stock Purchase 6/16/14

The decision was made on an opportunity that I felt was staring blank, right into the eye.  The opportunity I felt in my gut, came from an analysis I did on a stock over this past weekend.  I simply used our dividend screening tool to assess the situation and thought – this fits in and based on past history and valuations currently, I had to pull the trigger.

HCP Stock Analysis and Purchase Summary

This week was a pretty exciting week for my portfolio.  I crossed two major milestones in my portfolio: $35,000 in market value (Now over $37k) and $1,500 in projected dividend income.  What’s exciting/crazy is I am one purchase and one crazy week of appreciation away from crossing the $40k mark.  It is funny how fast your portfolio can grow. I was able to cross the $35k mark with two purchases  last week.

Latest Stock Purchase 5/27/14

Well gosh darn it, I did it again!  I purchased 3 individual stocks on a market trade with my brokerage account that was set in the past!  But it’s okay, that bulk purchase of $2,772 spread event over three companies provided me with quite a “bang” to my annual dividend income.  Here is the breakdown of the trades that happened a few days ago on May 27, 2014:

Latest Stock Purchase 5/21/14

This market is very difficult to find a good value/purchase.  The average P/E within the S&P is hovering around 19 (give or take 20 basis points), and the shiller P/E around showing higher, the value buys are there but are becoming very small glimmers in the rough.  I updated my goals page and realized, it’s time to make a move towards that 4% overall yield and a nice little boost to my projected annual income.
