Strategy Adjustment – Taxes… (Series, Part 3)

Welcome back!  After the first two posts, I can see now the heat coming from the articles and the insight that individuals are also providing through their comments.  We all want to save on taxes, reduce the liability, invest more money and keep more of that money, which we earn through our sources of income.  Here we are… Part 3 to reduce taxes and invest MORE.  This is possible everyone, VERY possible.  The first portion of my strategy was to maximize my 401(k) with my employer, which will result, in this first year, a savings of OVER $5,000 and the second portion of the strategy led to tax savings of over $1,000 MORE!  However, as you guessed it, it does NOT end there.

Strategy Adjustment – Taxes… (Series, Part 1)

Very strange article title, isn’t it?  To begin, I love dividend stocks to invest in.  I love the pursuit to financial freedom and to be completely independent in the decision of what to do with my time.  As with that time – happiness is what truly matters, and making a difference in others lives.  I want to do that, NOW, Tomorrow, the next day and so on.  I want to be able to spend as much time with friends and family as I see fit in my life and to help others that are in need.  In doing some “deep-thinking” on how to further expedite this, maximize my money, which buys time, I have changed a strategy of mine.  The target?  Taxes.

Every Dollar Counts

Here I am sitting on a Sunday early afternoon, thinking of what post to write.  I am currently updating my actual expenses for the month, after coming home from the Grocery store, where I spent $27.76.  I looked at my portfolio, reviewed articles online, took a sip of my coffee and thought, what the heck am I doing?  What is in my surrounding to inspire me to write a post that can attract readers, get people interested and showcase a passion of mine.  I looked in the mirror as I was brushing my teeth and noticed the grey in my hair.  Then.. it hit me.

Industry Analysis: Grocery Store Stocks

This week, I felt like taking a different approach to finding hidden gem dividend growth stocks.  Typically, as I did with my watch list last week, I run the Dividend Diplomats Stock Screener and try to identify  a sample of stocks that fit my metrics that I can buy at that moment in time.  And if that doesn’t work, Lanny or I will run a different screener and create a “Top 5” stock list of some sorts and identify a certain type of dividend stock we are targeting.  For example, we have run screeners for low dividend yield, high dividend growth rate stocks and dividend growth stocks with low debt to equity ratios in the past.   This time, my approach was to identify an industry that is not represented in my portfolio and check out a few dividend stocks in the sector and see what I’m missing.  Maybe they will fit, maybe they won’t….but there is only one way to find out.  For today, I wanted to check out some grocery store stocks that pay a dividend.

Bert’s June Stock Watch List

Life is finally starting to settle down again now that my wedding festivities are over.  I feel like I finally have the time to needed to properly analyze the stock market and find the perfect stock to buy.  A few days ago, Lanny purchased more shares in Target and I must say, I’m a little jealous of the make he is making moves while I am still sitting on the sideline.   That jealousy, coupled with the excitement I have following our review of other bloggers’ May dividend income figures, leaves me feeling as motivated as ever to find a great stock and invest.   What stocks am I consider?  Time to take a look at my June stock watch list!
