I just couldn’t sit on the sidelines on a certain company any longer. I saw Bert purchase a massive amount and then the dividend community was scooping up share, after share, after share. The market was still bumpy this past week and I decided to make a purchase in the earlier parts. I didn’t have as much capital, as I’d like to, but I did have a free trade credit at my disposal, that was going to expire in a few months. therefore, i decided to put my capital to use and buy an undervalued dividend growth stock for the portfolio! Lanny’s Recent Stock Purchase – Dominion Energy (D)
I couldn’t hold back any longer. Time to take the thinking of making a purchase and, instead, just buying when the metrics are right. The metrics were right for me in this instance. A few days ago, I made my second dividend stock purchase of the year and it was a “safer” play, some may say. Let’s just say, the winter has been very, very cold this year and that usually means larger than normal gas bills. I decided to buy a dividend stock, that will help offset those utility bill increases! Let’s see what dividend stock I purchased to warm up the portfolio.

Lanny’s Recent Stock Purchase – HCP, Inc. (HCP)
Wow… I can’t believe I still remember how to buy stock! It has been almost 2 months since my last stock purchase, when I purchased shares in AT&T (T) and Hormel (HRL) back in October. Can I say that it feels good to be back? I couldn’t help but sit on the sidelines, as during that two month period, the S&P 500 index has increased well over 4%+ during that time period. My dividend stock portfolio has been bolstering record-highs and finding opportunities out there has been difficult, to say the least. The stock I purchased has not moved in that two month span, and when dating back to three months ago, is actually down 10%. On December 21st, I purchased 58 shares into HCP, Inc. It’s getting colder here in Cleveland, currently 38 degrees as I’m typing this. As the weather has gotten colder, the stock market has chilled down a bit and has created a few opportunities for us dividend investors. I have not been as active the last few months as I’d like to be (as it relates to dividend stock purchases), but patience is a virtue in this game, that’s for damn sure! Lanny’s Recent Stock Purchase – Delta Airlines (DAL)
Who doesn’t love an enjoyable experience when flying? I know I do. However, enjoying a flight is a rarity these days, especially when top airliners are making their own “headliners” from ripping people off planes, arresting them or the customer service is of the worst quality. Personally, when I think of the most enjoyable experience that I’ve had from terminal, to boarding, to getting off the plane, I can only think of one airline. That airline is Delta and I happened to purchase their stock last week.
