September Dividend Income from YOU the Bloggers

September is over and a lot of us haven taken the first few weeks of October to look back and reflect on the crazy month of September.  The turbulent market presented many great buying opportunities, as evidenced by what felt like a daily purchase article on our website, and benefits such as DRIPing at a lower price.  Preparing a dividend income summary article that includes the results of a few others in the community (I wish we could include all) has been a pleasure over the last few months. It allows us to share our successes together and push each other to knock out our goals so we can all escape this insane rat race.   We all have the same end game after all!  Let’s dive into the September edition of our monthly community dividend income summary.

The Two of Us–  Once again Lanny was the victor, defeating Bert by a wide margin of $779.83 to $224.46.  While other off-months have been close, the disparity between the size of our portfolios became too much for Bert to overcome in September (Note: Bert is writing this part, so it isn’t Lanny bragging).

Dividend Hustler$2,425 –  Let that number sink in for a second….Man what an impressive month for our favorite Hustler.  If I counted correctly, he received dividends from 48 companies….48!  Hustler has a great attitude about investing and life.   Definitely one of our favorite blogs to read!  Keep the Hustle going Ty!

Dividend Mantra – $1,029 – Jason barely eeked out a 4 digit month!  The fruits of all of his investing activity from the early part of the year are really starting to pay off.  Congrats Jason on the great month and setting a new personal record!  Hopefully you break this mark again in December.

DivHut$445–  I’m jealous of DivHut.  He received his first dividend from CCP, the company that was spun-off from Ventas.  Why am I jealous?  I stumbled onto this spin-off too late and missed out on this great opportunity.   The great news didn’t stop there as Keith posted some impressive dividend growth rates!

Captain Dividend – $301.73 – Even though Captain missed setting their dividend income record by a mere $8 (which was set last month), the consolation prize was a 32% dividend growth rate!  Not a bad day at the office.

Dividend Empire$97.05 in empire portfolio and $379.78 in retirement portfolio.  Woah!  Empire’s dividend income figures saw quite a hike in September as a result of many great purchases, re-invested dividends, and various dividend increases.  Ah….a textbook example of why we love dividend investing.

Ryan at My Dividend Growth – $267.14 – Who cares about the dividends received or the fact that Ryan experienced he posted a 196% YOY growth rate?  Last week, Ryan married the love of his life!  Congratulations Ryan from the two of us.  Cheers to many amazing years and memories.

Dividend Gremlin – $79.91 –  The Gremlin strikes again, delivering a 27% dividend increase from last year.  Great progress Gremlin.   One interesting note is that Gremlin had to replace a vehicle that was 15 years old!  Holy cow.  Hopefully my car can last that long.

Roadmap to Retire – 691 CAD, ~$452 USD –  As I mentioned every month, I love R2R’s monthly summaries as it offers a broad passive income update.  It really shows the power and benefits of diversifying your income stream.   Similar to Bert, R2R knocked out a goal this year, defeating the goal of receiving over $5,500 in passive income.  The best part…..2015 still has 3 months remaining in 2015.  Congrats and keep on pushing R2R!

Div4Son – $383 – D4S continues to have months with insane purchase levels, purchasing over $5k in stock in September.  The impact of these purchases is really starting to show as September’s total was nearly double D4S’s previous record.

The bottom line is that we are all making a progress here and the results are real.  It seemed like each blogger above (and those not included in this article) either set new dividend records or sported crazy dividend growth rates.   The best part is that we did nothing to earn this income (outside of the initial research).  All, hopefully you find this as motivating as we do as we continue our journey towards financial freedom!  Keep up the amazing work everyone and keep on pushing.  See you all at the finish line.
