The dividend stock purchases machine keeps rolling!  Yes, this is yet another round of dividend stock purchases, covering the first two weeks of activity in November.  I am going to start doing this now, from an article standpoint, as my dividend stock purchases are becoming more frequent, due to certain life events and brokerage changes.  The stock market has continued it’s roller-coaster ride, creating value on dividend stocks I currently or have wanted to own.  Therefore, I made a few stock purchases over this time period and let’s dive in and find out what I bought!

What is the S&P 500?

How many times have you read somewhere or heard someone state the “S&P 500 is up or down X% today?”  Or have you heard someone say that they own a mutual fund or ETF mirrors the S&P 500?  Lastly, have you read one of our stock analyses where we compare a company’s price to the S&P 500 to determine if the company is undervalued?   If you are a beginning investor, when asking those or similar questions to yourself, did you even stop and wonder what exactly the S&P 500 is?

The Impact of Dividend Increases through September of 2018

When talking about dividend increases, this is us talking about dividend investing, at it’s finest!  Given another quarter-end had recently passed, I wanted to reflect on what occurred over the last 9 months.  I do not mean just any old reflection, but I am going to be specifically talking about dividend increases and their impact on my portfolio this year.  Tax reform has been rewarding, as companies have been sending portions of the cost savings to their shareholders.

Bert’s October Dividend Income Summary

Another month.  The leaves are changing, Halloween is behind us, and I have officially ate way too much Halloween candy!  My wife and I love the fall season and even had a chance to go apple picking before the weather was too cold and make some fantastic desserts with our haul.  But that’s not the point of this article, is it?  Each month, we like to summarize our results and check out the growth and progress we are making in terms of dividend income.  Lanny kicked off the festivities by announcing a very nice 10.96% increase compared to last year.  Let’s see how well I can perform.  Here is my October Dividend Income summary!
