Bert’s September Dividend Stock Watch List

The year is flying by.  For a good portion of the year, we have experienced some wild, and unpredictable swings, in the marketplace.   I’m trying to be better about having a watch list handy to capitalize on sudden drops in the market.  There are some names out there that caught my eye as I ran a stock screener during Labor Day weekend.  So I put my thoughts down on paper.  Please see my September Dividend Stock Watch List and let me know what you think!  Hopefully there will be some opportunities to add to my portfolio.

Recent Buy – Realty Income (O)

After a record December, I was looking to start 2018 off on an aggressive note.  I play to push my limits in 2018 and hopefully provide a lot of fuel to my investment portfolio.   Despite the fact that the market has also started off on a tear, a few opportunities have presented themselves.  After watching the price of REITs such as Realty Income and HCP (Lanny’s latest purchase) continue to fall, I knew that a purchase was inevitable.   Let’s see why I added to my position in Realty Income!

Pay Down the Mortgage or Invest: Part II – Rising Interest Rates

Now that the year of 2016 is wrapping up and we are only around 4-5 weeks away until we ring in the new year, I have been deeply thinking about my extra-mortgage payment paydown strategy.  Mortgage interest rates have been sky rocketing since the election, another element to showcase the rollercoaster ride that we are truly on.  This has caused me to potentially make a tweak or two to my strategy that I have had in play for the last few years.  Let’s see what I mean!
